Q: Are you taking new clients? A: Yes, at the present time I have room in my schedule for new clients.
Q: Will you accept my insurance benefits as payment? A: No, but I am willing to provide you with the necessary paperwork so that you can be reimbursed directly by your insurer for covered expenses.
Q: What are your appointment hours? A: Appointments can be scheduled weekdays from noon until 8 PM.
Q: Do you prescribe medication? A: No. Only medical doctors, such as a psychiatrist or someone like your family doctor, are licensed to prescribe medication.
Q: What are the requirements for being a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist? A: An MFT must have a master’s degree in an area such as psychology, counseling or marriage & family therapy. In addition, there are 3,000 hours of supervised clinical practice and training required before someone is deemed qualified to sit for the MFT written and oral exams. The MFT candidate must pass both exams in order to become licensed. In California, MFTs are licensed by the State Board of Behavioral Sciences. Once licensed, MFTs must take 36 units of continuing education every two years in order to keep their license current.
Q: Isn’t therapy just for weak or crazy people? A: Absolutely not! It takes great courage and strength to explore our pain so we can improve our life. Some people may even have lives that appear, on the surface, to be without serious problems yet there is a sense of being unfulfilled. A fulfilled life is much more than simply having our needs satisfied. It’s about following our joy and passion so we can discover our true purpose and offer the best of ourselves to the world.
Truth
The Truth is that we are not our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions or our experiences.
Instead, we are the spacious Awareness, the pristine Consciousness in which all of these appear.
Authenticity
Living a life of Authenticity, with no Self betrayal, is the greatest gift you can offer the world.
Freedom
Freedom is the ability to rest in the peace and perfection of your Being while fully meeting and facing everything that appears in life.
